Every year again
Christmas is just around the corner, and with it, the big question of the ideal gift for loved ones. We at the Psychedelika Club are big advocates of minimalism – for us, that means limiting yourself to the things you really need in life and the things that bring joy (Marie Kondō would ask: "Does it spark joy?").
A very healing method against the whole gift craze can be a no-gifts policy with friends or family members – an agreement to completely forgo gifts on occasions. For some, this idea may seem depressing; for others, however, it is extremely liberating. No weeks of agonizing, desperate research, or missing the last delivery dates. However, this practice is only recommended if both sides strictly adhere to it. Otherwise, a guilty conscience is pre-programmed if you end up alone without a surprise.
Giving as a Symbol
From our own experience, however, we know that in many social constellations, you can't get by without gifts. And after all, gifts can also be something wonderful and connecting.
