1FE-LSD ist ein strukturell modifiziertes Lysergamid-Derivat, bei dem das Indol-Stickstoffatom (N1) des Ergolin-Grundgerüsts mit einer Ferrocenoyl-Gruppe acyliert ist. Es fällt aktuell nicht unter die gängigen Betäubungsmittel- oder NpSG-Regelungen und wird daher als Research Chemical eingesetzt. Als eines der wenigen Lysergamid-Derivate mit metallorganischem Baustein eignet es sich als Referenzsubstanz für methodische Grundlagenforschung an der Schnittstelle von Organometall- und Ergolinchemie.

Der Ferrocen-Baustein ist ein klassischer Sandwichkomplex der Organometallchemie. Ein Eisen(II)-Zentrum ist zwischen zwei Cyclopentadienyl-Ringen eingebettet und erfüllt die 18-Elektronen-Regel, was dieser Struktureinheit eine hohe chemische Stabilität verleiht. Ferrocen wurde 1951 entdeckt und zählt zu den bedeutendsten organometallischen Strukturmotiven überhaupt. Durch die Verknüpfung mit dem viergliedrigen Ergolin-Gerüst in 8β-Konfiguration – dem Strukturtyp der klassischen Lysergamide nach Albert Hofmann – verbindet das Derivat zwei historisch markante chemische Strukturklassen in einem Molekül. Die 8β-Konfiguration entspricht der klassischen Lysergamid-Reihe: Das chiral reine L-Tartrat als Gegenion stützt eine einheitliche Salzform. Historisch ist hierbei besonders bemerkenswert: An Tartrat-Kristallen entdeckte Louis Pasteur 1848 die molekulare Chiralität.

What is 1Fe-LSD?
As an LSD derivative, 1Fe-LSD belongs to the group of ergoline compounds, which are the subject of scientific research in the field of perception and consciousness models.
Due to its synthetically precisely defined composition, 1Fe-LSD is excellently suited for experimental setups based on reproducible and measurable experimental conditions.
Why 1Fe-LSD is not banned:
The NpSG (New Psychoactive Substances Act) defines prohibited substance classes through specific chemical structural patterns at the N1 position of the ergoline scaffold. These definitions were designed for organic substituents (acyl groups, alkyl chains, ring systems, etc.).
However, ferrocene is a sandwich complex (Fe between two cyclopentadienyl rings) — an organometallic compound that is chemically outside the prohibition categories defined in the NpSG.
The decisive factor is therefore the ferrocenyl group — an organometallic iron complex.
