Executive Summary
1D-LSD has been secretly and silently replaced by a new substance by the manufacturer: 1T-LSD. We immediately drew the consequences of this discovery and switched our shop from selling "1D-LSD" to selling 1T-LSD. Since the molecular weight of the two substances differs only marginally and we could not detect any noticeable differences in their molecular function in our subjective tests, we assume that no one has come to harm. Especially since 1T-LSD, like 1D-LSD, is not covered by either the BtMG or the NpSG in Germany and is therefore legal. Thus, there is no acute need for action for the researchers among you.
We – Chiara, Kate, Jascha, and Alexander – founded the Psychedelika Club with the vision of normalizing psychedelic experiences in our society. This summer, we launched our online shop for the legal LSD derivative 1D-LSD to contribute to this mission by making research chemicals accessible to a broader public. At the same time, with our blog, we provide harm reduction for the consumption of and valuable education about psychedelics to free them from their stigma. In our shop, 1D-LSD was available in three forms: Microdose (10 µg), Macrodose (150 µg), and Megadose (225 µg).
The LSD derivative 1D-LSD is currently, to our knowledge, only produced by one laboratory in the world: namely Lizard Labs (aka Synex Synthetics BV), based in Maastricht, Netherlands. This means Lizard Labs probably has a monopoly on the production of 1D-LSD (to the best of our knowledge and belief, but without guarantee). And now to the crux: Lizard Labs seems to have quietly switched the production and sale of 1D-LSD to 1T-LSD at a currently still unclear time. We had this confirmed by a laboratory analysis and immediately switched our shop to 1T-LSD.
In this post, we will explain the background of what exactly happened, what happens next, and what all this means for you. Please buckle up, because we may be facing a time of upheaval in the beautiful blossoming yet still fragile psychedelic renaissance, which we must now preserve together.

1T-LSD instead of 1D-LSD – what?!
We recently sent one of our products to a laboratory for analysis. And then something happened that none of us had ever expected: The tested product (a Microdosing pellet) contained exclusively 1T-LSD and no trace of 1D-LSD, which we had purchased as such from the manufacturer. We were initially shocked and stopped selling the affected product on the same day, as we prioritize integrity, the safety of our customers, and compliance with laws over commercial interests. Furthermore, we sent a sample of all our products for analysis to another independent laboratory in Germany, whose results confirmed our suspicion: the "1D-LSD" sold to us by the manufacturer contains exclusively 1T-LSD.
Since we are committed to the truth, we have adjusted the product names in our shop accordingly: We now exclusively sell 1T-LSD. But what is this new and previously unknown research chemical all about?
What is 1T-LSD?
1T-LSD, like 1D-LSD, is an LSD derivative that may be converted into LSD in the human body. However, since there is no research on this (as is also the case with 1D-LSD), we cannot yet say this with absolute certainty. This is also why LSD derivatives are colloquially called research chemicals.
Since 1D-LSD and 1T-LSD have an almost identical chemical structure (they differ only in the side chain at the primary nitrogen atom) and almost the same molecular weight (1T-LSD is minimally lighter than 1D-LSD), it can be assumed that the effect of 1D-LSD and 1T-LSD is almost completely identical. Subjective, non-rigorous scientific tests conducted by us support this conclusion.
In other words: 1T-LSD and 1D-LSD are almost identical products. This is also why we decided to continue selling our goods as 1T-LSD instead of stopping sales and thus our shop.
Legality of 1T-LSD
The most pressing question we asked ourselves after our discovery was: Is 1T-LSD even legal? The answer is yes, it is, because 1T-LSD is not covered by either the BtMG or the NpSG in Germany and is therefore 100% legal. This was confirmed in writing by the independent laboratory that analyzed our products. Our lawyer and Wikipedia (as of 16.11.2023) share the same opinion. We can therefore give the all-clear regarding the legality of 1T-LSD in Germany.
In Austria and Switzerland, both substances, 1D-LSD and 1T-LSD, are probably not legal. However, no one really knows exactly – not even the Austrian Ministry of Health, which unfortunately remains rather tight-lipped about it.
Who is affected by the 1D-LSD issue?
At present, we do not yet know when the manufacturer began synthesizing and selling 1T-LSD instead of 1D-LSD. Consequently, we also cannot yet estimate how many of our customers are affected. Unfortunately, the manufacturer declined to comment. In the spirit of transparency, we would like to point out that not only we, but presumably several 1D-LSD shops are affected by the present mislabeling by the manufacturer. So far, one competitor has confirmed this and announced that they will also switch their shop to selling 1T-LSD in the short term. To find out conclusively whether goods ordered by you are also affected, please contact your shop.
Why only now?
Unfortunately, the analysis of substances – legal and illegal – is not a service that is offered as standard in Germany. Therefore, when our shop launched in the summer, we tried several times to submit our products to the official drug checking program of the German government in Berlin. However, we were rejected several times there due to insufficient capacity (reportedly fewer than ten samples per week – in a country with over 80 million inhabitants).
In the next step, we tried to find a private laboratory that offered the desired service. However, we found that almost all laboratories refuse to carry out solid substance tests. They are afraid of doing something illegal, unless the client is a public authority such as the BKA.
But we did not give up until we found a laboratory that agreed to analyze our product. The first analysis brought to light the fact that it probably contained 1T-LSD instead of 1D-LSD. We suspended the sale of the affected product on the same day. The subsequent analysis of the other products then confirmed our suspicion that all three of our products were affected. We also immediately drew the consequences from this and rebranded our shop: We now exclusively sell 1T-LSD instead of "1D-LSD".
Why is Lizard Labs selling 1D-LSD as 1T-LSD?
We have requested an official statement from the manufacturer, Lizard Labs, as to why they are selling 1T-LSD as 1D-LSD. We have not yet received a response, but will announce all updates in our newsletter.
What happens next with 1D-LSD?
Since we at Psychedelika Club are our own best customers, we regularly research our products and implicitly subject them to quality controls. Based on our own positive experiences, we have decided with a clear conscience to continue selling the "1D-LSD" in our warehouse as what it is: 1T-LSD.
Furthermore, since the discovery of this issue, we have been working tirelessly 24/7 with our lawyers, chemists, and the manufacturer to uncover the background and will keep you informed of further developments through all our channels (newsletter, Instagram, and now also YouTube).
We are well aware that this case could cause a breach of trust in the psychedelic community worldwide, and besides our customers, we are also victims of this scandal. Nevertheless, or precisely because of this, we, the psychedelic community, must now close ranks and under no circumstances let these events be an occasion to set back the psychedelic renaissance, from which it might not recover for years. Germany is one of the few countries on this planet where legal LSD derivatives have been available since 2015, making it an incredibly good place to advance the normalization of psychedelic experiences and thus change the world. It would be a pretty hard blow for all of us if that changed – because we are all in the same boat.

Outro 1D-LSD (1T-LSD)
1P-LSD in 2017, 1CP-LSD in 2019, 1V-LSD in 2021, 1D-LSD in 2022 and 1T-LSD in 2023 – no one knows how long this list will continue or which letter will follow next, but we are convinced that this cat-and-mouse game will be far from over. As it turned out in autumn 2023, 1D-LSD seems to actually be 1T-LSD, and we at Psychedelika Club have taken this insight as an opportunity to only sell the products in our shop as what they are: 1T-LSD.
